7182 The First National Bank of BISBEE

1904 - Chartered in March with capital of $50,000
1908 - Receivership March 24th ; Capital of $50,000

Anecdotally, I have heard a humorus report that the 1910 census listed the former cashier and president of this bank as residents of an Arizona jail - incompetent management indeed!

In my younger day, this was the "Holy Grail" for Arizona National Banknote collectors. While an uncut proof-sheet had been observed, an actually-issued banknote was at that time unknown. Since those days, one has surfaced and with it's discovery all Arizona issuing cities\towns are now known.
