11559 The Commercial National Bank of PHOENIX

1919 - Chartered in December with capital of $150,000
1931 - July 30th - Voluntarily liquidated, capital of $100,000
                                  Purchased by the Arizona Bank of Phoenix

1932 - June 24 - Bank closed by the AZ State Banking Department
1937 - June 7 - Final dividend paid - Total to depositors = 51%.

Note - Not affiliated with the Arizona Bank of the 1950's - 1990's

Although early media places the bank at 1st Avenue & Adams, the bank had moved to the Hotel Adams by 1925

Later located at 119 North Central Ave, the bank fronted the Hotel Adams. The hotel itself had been demolished in 1973, The new construction featured an arched walkway similar to the previous one, as seen here in 2014. By 2019, however, the latest renovation had obliterated this as well.



The bank only issued fives, most if not all printed during the early half of it's existence. Twelve are reportedly known as of August, 2019, most in well-circulated condition.
