12581 The First National Bank of WINSLOW

Chartered in September 1924 with $50,000 capital
Liquidated July 2, 1946, $50,000 capital
Absorbed by Valley National Bank of Arizona, Phoenix

Unlike most small Arizona towns, both small and large size examples are, with some patience, obtainable from here. Winslow during the note-issuing period was more populous than Tempe.

The bank building now houses the Old Trails Museum, complete with original bank vault (shown below), counter-tops, and mosaic tile floor.

Museum volunteers stand outside the original bank vault.
